Chair, Theme on the Social and Environmental Accountability of the Private Sector (SEAPRISE)

Diana Shand, Aotearoa-New Zealand, was as elected Oceania Regional Councillor to the IUCN Council in 2004.   She served as one of four elected Vice-presidents 2008 – 2012 and chaired the Council Private Sector Task Force.

Diana was National Programme Manager 2004-2009 for ICLEI’s Communities for Climate Protection – New Zealand.  This followed a political career in local government dealing with natural resource management and earlier service on New Zealand’s Human Rights Commission.  She maintained her own Marketing and Business consultancy for several decades.  Diana has an MBA from McGill University, Canada.  She attended the UNCED in Rio de Janeiro 1992 as a member of the New Zealand Government Delegation and Rio+20 as part of the IUCN Delegation.
