New Series on Global Sustainability Issues
The CEESP Theme on the Environment, Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment (TEMTI) will be launching a new TEMTI Series on Analytical Perspectives on Global Sustainability. The objective of this new series is to provide material for the analysis and interpretation of current problems concerning social and environmental sustainability at national and global levels.
The series will also provide policy alternatives. Some of the problem areas covered by the first documents of the series include Rio+20, inequality, extractive industries, biofuels, technical change and greenhouse gas emissions, financial speculation and carbon markets and commodities, trade in endangered species, sustainable agriculture and small-scale farming.
Confirmed papers include: Financial Speculation in Commodities and Futures’ Markets: Social and Environmental Implications, The Global Financial Crisis: Why Understanding Its Nature is Important, Beyond Enclave: Extractive Industries in Zimbabwe, and Current Status of Climate Change Policies and Carbon Trading.
