Earth Day Celebrated by IUCN Pakistan at Quetta

Quetta: The World’s leading Environmental Union, (IUCN) International Union for Conservation of Nature Pakistan, in collaboration with Girls Guide Association Balochistan celebrated the Earth Day 2011 with the tiltle, “A Billion Acts of Green”. A large number of participants from academia, schools and community members attended the event. The event was organized by Balochistan Partnerships for Sustainable Development (BPSD). A poster compitition was also organized on the occasion. The objective of poster compitition was to sensitize the young generation about the importance of planet Earth and creat awareness for its protection and safety from hazardous pollutions.Twelve students from different schools participated in the poster competition. …
