Strengthening capacity of fishing Communities in the Tonsle Sap to manage their natural resources sustainably

 Goal and outcome:

  • Capacity of Community Fisheries (CFs) to negotiate, demarcate, and manage Fishery Conservation Zone (FCZs) is strengthened.
  • Capacity of CFs to network with other communities managing FCZs is enhanced.
  • Value of FCZs demonstrated and management costs are included in commune budgets.

Building Coastal Resilience to Climate Change Impacts – Coastal Southeast Asia (BCR)

Objective: Strengthen the ability of local government and local people to plan for, and adapt to future climate risks in 8 coastal provinces between Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok: Can Gio, Ben Tre, Soc Trang and Kien Giang in Vietnam; Kampot and Koh Kong in Cambodia and Trat and Chanthaburi in Thailand.

Mekong Water Dialogues (MWD) - Phase II

Goal and Purpose

The goal of the project is to improve livelihood security, human and ecosystem health in the Mekong Region through participatory water governance

The purpose of the project is to mainstream participation by multiple stakeholders including communities and civil society in decision making related to management of water resources in the Mekong Region

Magroves For the Future (MFF)


  • Improve, share and apply knowledge to support the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of coastal ecosystems;
  • Strengthen integrated coastal management institutions and empower civil societies (including local communities) to engage in decision-making and management that conserves, restores and sustainably uses coastal ecosystems;
  • Enhance coastal governance at all levels (regional, national, sub-national and local) to encourage integrated management programmes and invest¬ments that are ecologically and socio-economically sound, and promote human well-b eing and security.
