Agrobiodiversity

Agrobiodiversity is the variety of living things contributing to the sustainability of food and agriculture resources, upon which local livelihoods are highly dependent.

IUCN Lao PDR is committed to increasing knowledge, demonstrating wise use and institutionalising planning processes at multiple levels in the areas of non-timber forest products, plantations and landscape-scale activities.

Objectives

  • Increased knowledge base for better understanding of agrobiodiversity
  • Demonstrated wise-use of Lao PDR's agrobiodiversity for improving livelihoods; and
  • Institutionalised planning process at multiple levels for the fair and equitable use of Lao PDR's agrobiodiversity.
