Georgian government signs forest governance agreement
An agreement of cooperation with the Forestry Agency of Georgia has been signed to improve governance and transparency. On August 17, 2010, in Tbilisi, IUCN signed an Agreement of Cooperation with the Forestry Agency of Georgia. IUCN is implementing activities under the ENPI FLEG program and will provide technical assistance to the newly established Forest Agency of Georgia to help increase the Agency’s communication capacity. The overall goal of the cooperation is to improve governance in forestry sector and raise awareness on forest issues. …
