New Members’ Portal: Resolutions and Recommendations System
In compliance with Resolution 4.011 (Development of an automated system to record Members’ actions on Resolutions and Recommendations to improve reporting at, and between, World Conservation Congresses), the IUCN Secretariat has developed an online tool to facilitate reporting by IUCN Members and the Secretariat on activities contributing to the implementation of Resolutions and Recommendations adopted at the 2008 World Conservation Congress in Barcelona.

IUCN Red List and Criteria version 3.1 now available in Arabic
IUCN-Med is pleased to announce that the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria version 3.1 has now been published in Arabic, with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID), and the objective of promoting red listing in Arabic countries at national and regional levels. Tourism industry should better cater for climate-sensitive holiday makers
A survey of tourists and tour operators in the Egyptian Red Sea region shows that the industry often misperceives its clients’ environmental sensitivity, putting its own business at risk. Climate change is a growing threat to the tourism industry by making destinations less attractive and jeopardizing major sources of income. The awareness of tourists towards climate change and other environmental issues is likely to be a major driver of their future holiday choices.

IUCN and the Council of Europe Strengthen Cooperation
The Council of Europe will today sign a Memorandum of Co-operation (MoC) with IUCN. La biodiversité est peu valorisée dans les signes de reconnaissance agricoles, c’est-à-dire les marques, labels, AOC ou certifications attribués à des productions de vins, fromages, viandes, fruits, légumes, céréales. Pourtant plusieurs mesures favorables à la biodiversité existent, elles demandent à être encouragées.
