Applied GIS on freshwater biodiversity assessment in North Africa

19 January 2009 | Event

Following the North-African members’ recommendation on their interest in getting environmental training activities, the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation is organising a regional workshop on “Applied GIS on freshwater biodiversity assessment in North Africa” that will take place in Tunis (Tunisia) between the 19th and the 23rd of January 2009.

The workshop will enable water resource managers and environmental planners in North Africa to integrate spatial information on freshwater biodiversity, especially information coming from Red List assessments (threatened species distribution), within their planning activities and development processes. In addition, this workshop will allow further development of regional expert networks as well as mobilization of existing information among decision makers.
