The political change sweeping the Arab World is offering opportunities for a radical change in the way national authorities approach environmental issues across the region, according to Dr Brahim Haddane, IUCN Councillor for Africa.
Among those problems being faced in North Africa is that of desertification. Dr Haddane says that this is threatening not just from the south but also from the north. He explains more.
