The World Environment Day is organized by the United Nations in order to stimulate worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action. The World Environment Day slogan for 2008 is "Kick the Habit! Towards a Low Carbon Economy."
World Conservation Congress
October 5 - 14, 2008
The World Conservation Union will hold its 4th congress in Barcelona. The congress gathers all members and partners of IUCN to define the conservation policy of the Union for future years. The congress is also an occasion to communicate on conservation concerns for upcoming years.
