IUCN`s mission is to influence, encourage and assist societies throughout the world to conserve the integrity and diversity of nature and ensure that any use of natural resources is equitable and ecologically sustainable. Influencing policies to these ends is a key aspect of IUCN`s work.
The key Policy issues currently are: Conservation and poverty; climate change and biodiversity; markets, finance and incentives for ecosystem services; and biodiversity and the international environmental system.
