A side event of the 9th Pacific Islands Conference on Nature Conservation and Protected Areas.
When: 5 December, 2013. 6pm to 9pm
Where: IUCN Oceania Regional Office - 15 Ma'afu Street, Suva, Fiji Islands
The conference presents a unique opportunity for networking, forging and building partnerships and sharing lessons learnt. IUCN, though fairly new to this region, is already working in more than 10 Pacific Island countries and we continue to expand our reach as well as nature’s agenda nationally, regionally as well as globally. We do not work in isolation but in partnership with many organizations, most of whom are also working in the Pacific. This side event is an occasion where you can learn about our work and aspirations for the Pacific. Think of it as the ‘IUCN Oceania- one-stop-shop’.
What to expect: presentations, displays, quizzes, dancing, kava and more.
Four reasons to be there:
- If you too are working towards a just world that values and conserves nature, and you want us to know more about your work, then we look forward to welcoming you to our event.
- Interact with our experts working in the Pacific in a range of environmental issues such as energy, protected areas, climate change, ecosystem restoration and evaluation, sustainable development and green growth.
- Explore opportunities to get involved in our Pacific projects, regional initiatives and policies
- Develop or build partnerships with IUCN to add value to your organization’s activities
