The multipartner workshop on the development of the negotiations of the APV/FLEGT, between Cameroon and the European Community, was held in Yaoundé, Cameroon on January 8th, 2009. It was organised under the patronage of Mr. Elvis NGOLLE NGOLLE, Minister for Forests and Wildlife with the financial assistance of the German cooperation (GTZ) and the support of the IUCN.

Its main goals were, on one hand, to consolidate the adhesion of all the stakeholders to the negotiation process of the on-going Voluntary Partnership Agreement (APV), to inform all the actors of the forestry sector in Cameroon and entice them to endow themselves with the tools generated by the negotiation process APV/FLEGT; on the other hand, to bring about mobilisation of all the necessary energies so as to result in the signature of this Agreement and to finally inform all stakeholders on the next steps of the process. Representatives of the concerned administrations (MINFOF, MINFI, MINEPAT, MINCOMMERCE, etc.), international and national NGO, private sector, professionals, members of parliament and civil corporation organisations were invited.
