MoU Signed Between NPC and IUCN Nepal

Government of Nepal/ National Planning Commission and IUCN Nepal Country office signed MoU for conservation and management of natural resources.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is signed between the National Planning Commission (NPC) of the Government of Nepal and International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) for technical cooperation on matters relating to conservation and management of natural resources. The MoU aims to promote technical collaboration in policy formulation and modification in the field of conservation and management of natural resources in the spirit of equality, reciprocity and mutual benefit.

The MoU ensures the area of cooperation in Revision of National Conservation Strategy1988 and supporting policy formulation process in the field of conservation and management of natural resources. The MoU enter into force from July 30, 2012 for five years. The MoU was signed jointly by Bhaba Krishna Bhattarai, Joint Secretary of NPC and Dr. Yam Malla, Country Representative of IUCN Nepal.
