La gallineta (Scorpaena notata) se encuentra normalmente en las agrupaciones coralígenas y en hábitats rocosos del litoral. Es un pez sedentario de pequeño tamaño (unos 15 cm). Su aleta dorsal con pinchos es venenosa. La gallineta, abundante en muchos lugares del Mediterráneo y en las aguas cercanas del Atlántico, está clasificada como de Preocupación Menor.

Más de 40 especies de peces marinos que hoy nadan en el Mediterráneo podrían desaparecer en los próximos años. Según el estudio de la Lista Roja de UICN de Especies Amenazadas™ sobre el estado de conservación de los peces marinos en el Mar Mediterráneo, casi la mitad de las especies de tiburones y rayas (peces cartilaginosos) y al menos 12 especies de peces óseos podrían desaparecer debido al exceso de pesca, la degradación de los hábitats marinos y la contaminación. …   | English | French
