1er Guide d’identification des oiseaux d’eau migrateurs du Nord de l’Afrique en langue arabe
Lors d’un atelier organisé le samedi 2 mars 2013 à Tunis par l’Association « Les Amis des Oiseaux » (AAO), Membre de l'UICN, en présence de ses partenaires nationaux et internationaux, un nouveau guide d’identification des oiseaux d’eau en langue arabe a été présenté au public. La soixantaine de participants de l’événement, majoritairement des représentants d’institutions et d’organisations œuvrant pour la biodiversité et les milieux naturels, s’est accordée à constater que ce bel ouvrage va combler un besoin ressenti dans le domaine de la conservation des oiseaux d’eau et des zones humides au Nord de l’Afrique, celui de disposer d’outils de travail en langue arabe. … | English

Resilience framework for local action against climate change in Morocco
The Environment Observatory of the Tangier-Tetouan Region, along with the non-governmental organization GERES and other partners in Morocco, organized last 25-28 of February 2013 a Seminar entitled "Climate Change Adaptation and fight against fuel poverty in the region Tetouan Tangier ". The seminar allowed the SEARCH project partners in Morocco (IUCN-Med, University of Tetouan and the Association Talassemtane de l’Environnement et de Developpement) to present the results of the project, including the analysis of climate change vulnerability in pilot areas and the methodology defined for the project on building resilience. …

Invasive alien species: The biodiversity time bomb is ticking!
Invasive Alien Species (IAS) poses a significant threat to native biodiversity in Europe, as well as to our economy and health. They cause some 12.5 billion Euro worth of damage each year in the European Union alone. On 21 February, BirdLife and IUCN co-hosted an event in the European Parliament in Brussels to shed some light on this ticking time bomb ahead of the EU legislative proposal that is expected in March. La captura incidental, un problema para los tiburones y rayas en el mar Mediterráneo y el mar Negro
Un nuevo estudio ha sido publicado recientemente por la Comisión General de Pesca del Mediterráneo, Elasmobranquios del Mediterráneo y Mar Negro: estado, ecología y biología. La información recopilada por los autores muestra que las especies cartilaginosas, incluyendo tiburones, rayas y quimeras son, de lejos, el grupo más amenazado de peces marinos en el Mar Mediterráneo. Esta información reafirma los resultados de la Lista Roja de la UICN (Evaluación regional 2007) que claramente señala la vulnerabilidad de los elasmobranquios y la carencia de datos sobre estas especies. … | English
