Caribbean Work Plan 2013-2016

The challenges that the Caribbean region confronts need also to be put in contrast with its uniqueness and importance to the world.

The Caribbean is one of the world’s greatest centers of endemic biodiversity as a result of the region’s geography and climate: an archipelago of habitat; rich tropical and semi-tropical islands tenuously connected to surrounding continents. Also, the Caribbean Islands have a high cultural and social diversity, which brings innovation and opportunities.
