Prof. Meinhard Doelle, a specialist in international and domestic law relating to climate change, has joined the staff of the IUCN Environmental Law Centre for five months to work on linkages between biodiversity and climate change.
Meinhard is currently the Associate Director of the Marine and Environmental Law Institute at Dalhousie Law School, Halifax, in Canada and a member of the IUCN CEL Specialist Group on Energy. During his stay in Bonn from January to May, 2008, he will collaborate with the ELC in developing a project involving research on linkages between the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and other Multilateral Environmental Agreements. A project on law and policy approaches to offshore renewable energies such as offshore wind, tidal and wave energy is also underway.
