Oceania Regional Committee Meeting, April 30th - May 1st 2009
05 May 2009 | News story
The Oceania Regional Committee recently met at the IUCN Oceania Regional Office in Suva, Fiji, for the first time in two years.
The Committee is made up representatives from Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Island members, as well as representatives from each of IUCNs Commissions. It acts in an advisory capacity to the regional office, representing and advocating as the voice of Oceania, on issues relevant to IUCN. The meeting was a chance to discuss the Oceania Programme of Work for the 2009-2012 inter-sessional period, and provided an opportunity to think about membership and commission engagement in delivering the programme.
