Invitation to discuss the Draft National Protected Areas System Development Strategy and Action Plan for Georgia

The IUCN Programme Office for the Southern Caucasus, on behalf of the Agency of Protected Areas of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources of Georgia, kindly invites all interested stakeholders to submit comments on the draft National Protected Areas System Development Strategy and Action Plan.

The draft was developed with active participation of the staff of the APA. The process of development of the document consisted of several stages: (1) development of the first draft, with support of IUCN POSC; (2) elaboration of a National PA Capacity Development Plan, in cooperation with WWF and US DoI ITAP and (3) integration of those two documents.
 

Comments and suggestions should be submitted to the Agency of Protected Areas by August 1, 2009 to Ms. Tea Barbakadze at the following address: 6 Gulua Str. 5th floor, Tbilisi, or via e-mail to teabarba@yahoo.com. The further consultation of the draft will be based on the comments received.
