French and Spanish CEPA Toolkit Now Available

Professionals carrying out the Convention on Biological Diversity at the national level use the fact sheets, checklists and examples in the CEPA Toolkit to update their knowledge and skills. The toolkit is now available in Spanish, “La Comunicación, Educación, y Conciencia Pública” and in French “Communication, éducation et sensibilisation du public.” CEPA is about motivating and mobilizing people to change behaviour and take action. Tools and methods include information exchange, dialogue, education and social marketing.

‘The European Green Belt: Borders. Wilderness. Future’ exhibition opened at the Linz Schlossmuseum on the 4th July 2009 as part of Linz 2009 European Capital of Culture. The exhibition was opened by the Landeshauptmann (Head of the Government) of Upper Austria, Mr. Pühringer. IUCN contributes to local sustainability movement with ICLEI

From 14 to 18 June 2009, George Greene and Sebastian Winkler from IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) joined the triennial World Congress of ICLEI, the largest global association of local governments working on sustainability. The event was hosted by the City of Edmonton (Canada). 500 participants joined the conversation on advancing sustainability in cities and towns.
