At the September 2012 IUCN World Parks Congress in Jeju, South Korea, the World Commission on Protected Areas announced its intention to prepare a new compendium text book for students and policy makers titled Protected Area Governance and Management. This book will be the principal source of information for WCPA to underpin its professionalization of protected area management and capacity building curricula, and will serve as a founding text for PA governance and management worldwide.
