Unique marine national park in Korea now officially certified by IUCN

Hallyeohaesang National Park, a unique marine ecosystem in South Korea, has been certified as a Category II Protected Area under the UN List of Protected Areas. Hallyeohaesang National Park was designated in 1968 as one of the first national marine protected areas in Korea.

KCS celebrates and reflects on the future of Africa’s wildlife

Kalahari Conservation Society (KCS) hosted its 2011 Gala Dinner Dance at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) on the 11 November 2011. The theme for this spectacular day was 'The future of the African wildlife under the changing climatic conditions' and the keynote address was delivered by Dr Richard Leakey, a well-known conservationist and paleoanthropologist. Prominent people who were in attendance were the KCS Patron and President of Botswana, His Excellency Seretse Khama Ian Khama, who was the Guest of Honor; KCS Honorary President The Honorable Dr. G.K.T. Chiepe and the Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, Honorable Kitso Mokaila. The ceremony was directed by Hastings Chikoko from IUCN. …
