Illegal exploitation and the trade of forest resources become a concern

The round table meeting on illegal exploitation and the trade of the forest resources in the Northeast of the Democratic Republic of Congo was held in Kinshasa, DRC on December 20th, 2008. This meeting was organised in order to facilitate the multiple exchanges of actors between the central government and the provinces concerned by the exploitation and the trade of forest resources that are meant for exportation.

The principal weaknesses and strengths that surround wood exploitation and the trade in DRC were identified; also, the main networks of fraud system as well as the means to repress them were examined.  A priority plan of action was presented and adopted.
