SSC – CEESP Workshop on Sustainable Use and Human Wildlife Interactions, UNEP-WCMC, Cambridge, 1-2 October 2009

Following the adoption of Resolution 4.039 (Cross Commission Collaboration on Sustainable Use of Biological Resources), and the subsequent survey and associated report on sustainable use and human-wildlife interactions (prepared by Holly Dublin and Carol Poole), this workshop was organised to chart the way forward for work on sustainable use and human-wildlife interactions, exploring possible inter-commission co-operation on these issues, and using the survey findings as a basis for discussions. CEESP & SSC members, as well as the Chair of CEM met for two days to fully explore What are the issues on Human-Wildlife Interactions (HWI) on which IUCN can add most value? and how can Commission best ccarry out this work?
