IUCN'S NEW PRESIDENT ELECTED
|
|
Mr Zhang Xinsheng of China is the new President of IUCN. He was elected today at the IUCN World Conservation Congress. The Congress also elected a new Council made up of a Treasurer, Chairs of the six IUCN Commissions and Regional Councillors. The IUCN Council is the principal governing body of IUCN.

IUCN and Microsoft form unique partnership to tackle species extinction

Microsoft and IUCN, the International Union for Conservation of Nature, jointly announced today at the 2012 IUCN World Conservation Congress in South Korea, the formation of a new partnership to further strengthen the information available on The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™.
