The World Leaders Dialogues will be the highlight of the World Conservation Congress. Focused on the Congress themes, a balanced mix of experts, politicians and CEOs, moderated by prominent journalists, will give the pace to inspirational, challenging analyses of the current state of nature and conservation.

Nature+ climate: Can Nature save us?

On 7 September, the first in the series of dialogues will be dedicated to the theme Nature+ climate. This dialogue will be moderated by Sally Ranney, journalist at A Matter of Degree Media, and IUCN Patron.

Nature+, the 2012 World Conservation Congress slogan

A slogan for the Congress
The Congress theme is Nature+, a simple and memorable slogan that captures the fundamental importance of nature and its inherent link to every aspect of our lives.

 

A total of five focal themes will be addressed during the Congress and the Forum will dedicate one day of the Forum to each theme.

> 8 September: Nature+ food
> 9 September: Nature+ development
> 10 September: Nature+ people & governance
> 11 September: Nature+ life

Nature+ climate: Nature-based solutions to climate change
At the 2012 World Conservation Congress, IUCN will be urging decision-makers to invest in nature – in the way we protect it, manage it and govern it – and thus increase resilience and reduce the vulnerability of people to the impacts of climate change.
