ELC welcomes climate change expert

Please join us in welcoming our new colleague Santiago Martínez Ochoa, who joined the ELC as Legal Officer at the end of May.  

Santiago is a Colombian national, formerly Head of the Legal Office at the Ministry of Environment of Colombia.
His previous experience includes working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an advisor on international marine and fishing legal issues, and as an attorney for the energy sector while working for BP.

He holds a Master’s Degree (LL.M) from the  University of the Andes (Colombia) and another from the University of Pennsylvania (United States).

Already feeling at home in Europe, as he is fluent in English, French and German as well as his native Spanish, Santiago enjoys photography, cooking and trekking.
 


This image shows the courtship behavior of Indian Bull frogs (Holobatrachus tigerinus). During the monsoon, the breeding males become bright yellow in color, while females remain dull. The prominent blue vocal sacs of male produce strong nasal mating call.
