IUCN-ELC REDD+ Benefit-sharing Paper Published

The UN-REDD Programme and the World Bank's Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) recently published a paper written by the IUCN Environmental Law Centre titled "REDD+ Benefit Sharing: A Comparative Assessment of Three National Policy Approaches." The paper compares benefit-sharing approaches associated with payments for ecosystem services, participatory forest management, and forest concession revenue sharing arrangements. The publication also assesses the ability of these policy approaches to address drivers of deforestation, and summarizes challenges and lessons learned from REDD+ benefit sharing planning to date.
