Conference - The Great Escape

The IUCN National Committee of the Netherlands is hosting a conference "The Great Escape, There is no planet B! Biodiversity Conservation, a Natural Ally in Sustainable Poverty Reducation" on 26th and 27th April, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The two-day conference aims to provide clarity amongst policy-makers on the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems to achieve economic development goals.
 

In the next 50 years, planet earth will need to support more than 9 billion inhabitants. Human beings all over the world depend fully on vital ecosystems. Nevertheless, the planet cannot support the current manner in which the global economy has developed. Smart ecosystems that have evolved over billions of years will be a crucial partner in providing basic human needs. There is no Planet B.

Location: Natura Artis Magistra, Plantage Middenlaan 41a-43, Amsterdam
Dates: 26 and 27 April
Participation: Registration is possbile until the 19th of April. Without registration, participation is not possble.
