Nippon Keidanren, the Japanese Business Federation has revised its Charter of Corporate Behavior and the Implementation Guidance with the aim of encouraging its member corporations to further promote corporate social responsibility within their corporate groups and supply chains

The revised charter emphasizes the need for all organizations to realize and discharge their social responsibility for the sustainable development of society.

While the charter and the accompanying guidance document have been developed by Nippon Keidanren as a voluntary code of conduct for its member corporations, they are also freely available to other organizations globally, as a tool to facilitate socially responsible practices. To aid its dissemination Nippon Keidanren has produced an English version of the charter and accompanying guidance document.
