IUCN Sri Lanka Members forge ahead !
21 November 2011 | News story
On 17 November, 2011, the Members of the Sri Lanka National Committee of IUCN and its programme staff, together with IUCN’s programme staff came together to discuss IUCN’s programme in Sri Lanka and the way forward based on IUCN’s programme for the next four years. All the members of IUCN National Committee participated at the meeting.
IUCN presented its project portfolio to its Membership. This meeting was very interactive in showcasing IUCN’s work on the ground since its inception and a large part of what IUCN in Sri Lanka does today and beyond.
The Membership on the other hand had a greater and wider knowledge disseminated to them on IUCN’s work, hitherto unknown to some. The reviews were very encouraging. It was agreed to have another one day meeting at Ministry of Environment in early January to discuss the priority action for IUCN membership to undertake considering plans of key national agencies.
