Panel on media and environment marks World Environment Day in Croatia

CEC member Zdravko Spiric participated in a panel discussion in Zagreb on the role of media and civil society in raising awareness for sustainable development.
A panel discussion was held June 5 at VERN, the University of Applied Sciences, Zagreb, Croatia, entitled "Role of the media and civil society in raising awareness on environmental protection and sustainable development". The panel celebrated World Environment Day. The discussion was organized within the optional course "Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development".
The lectures at the panel discussion were held by journalist Mr. Mladen Ilicković of Croatian national television, Mr. Drasko Holcer of The Blue World Institute of Marine Research and Conservation (an NGO) and Dr. Zdravko Spiric, scientific director at Oikon Ltd. Institute for applied ecology. Students of the course "Strategic Management" joined the discussion, along with the dean of VERN, Mr. Goran Radman.
