El tercer encuentro del Grupo de trabajo “Ecosistemas terrestres- Lista Roja de Ecosistemas en Marruecos” tuvo lugar en la Estación Experimental de Zonas Áridas (EEZA-CSIC), en Almería del 1 al 3 de octubre de 2013. Este grupo está coordinado por el Centro de Cooperación del Mediterráneo de UICN dentro del proyecto POCTEFEX-Transhabitat y tiene como finalidad generar una tipología de unidades ecosistémicas terrestres en Marruecos que puedan ser evaluables y objeto de seguimiento en el tiempo.  …

The Congress will take place in Marseille and Corsica, France, from October 21 to October 27, 2013 and will bring together major marine specialists and other maritime stakeholders every four years to assist in the conservation and sustainable development of the oceans. Titulación de Territorios Indígenas en La Mosquitia Hondureña

Proceso exitoso de titulación de territorios indígenas en La Mosquitia Hondureña

Recientemente, se dio la titulación de 5 territorios del Pueblo Indígena Miskitu en Honduras, en Finzmos, Truksinasta, Wamakliscinasta, Lainasta y Watiasta. Sumados a los otros dos títulos otorgados para los territorios de Katainasta en agosto de 2012 y Auhya Yari en mayo de 2013, ese logro representa un gran paso en la conquista de los derechos de los pueblos indígenas de Honduras y de la región, siendo cerca de un millón de hectáreas tituladas en la Mosquitia, el cual ha sido un trabajo de más de dos décadas.   …

Conformación de Comisión de Apoyo al Proceso FLEGT – Honduras.

 
En el transcurso del mes de septiembre, se conformó una Comisión de Apoyo al Proceso FLEGT, el Programa de la Unión Europea para la Aplicación de Leyes, Gobernanza y Comercios Forestales, en Honduras. La Oficina Regional para Mesoamérica e Iniciativa Caribe de la UICN viene apoyando este proceso desde principios del año 2013, trabajando directamente con el Instituto Nacional de Conservación y Desarrollo Forestal, Áreas Protegidas y Vida Silvestre de Honduras (ICF). Así entonces se consolida este importante espacio de coordinación interinstitucional en el primer país de Centroamérica que avanza en el tema de AVA-FLEGT. …
