Pacific Film Festival Targets Climate Change

Suva – 17 September - The first ever Pacific Climate Change Film Festival is set to commence in Suva with an official launch on Monday 22 September followed by a two-day extravaganza of 17 films made by film-makers from 10 Pacific island nations. Supporting Protected Area Management in Fiji

The IUCN Regional Office for Oceania is pleased to announce the release of a legal briefing paper on existing legal mechanisms for establishment and management of terrestrial protected areas in Fiji. The paper was prepared by IUCN on behalf of Birdlife International. Conservation NGOs Agree on New Way of Working

The Pacific Islands Roundtable for Nature Conservation reached a turning point in its history in June 2008, with eight organisations signing a Membership Charter that commits them to improve how each of the members will work in Pacific island countries. Signing the Charter formalises membership on the Roundtable and commits organisations to becoming more transparent and accountable in implementing the newly drafted Regional Action Strategy for Nature Conservation, 2008-2012. …
