Till the 15th of February 2012 applicants can lodge their presentations to compete for the prize of USD $ 50,000 for projects related to adaptation to climate change.
The Regional Policy Dialog (RPD) on Water and Climate Change Adaptation in the Americas, in coordination with the FEMSA Foundation and the National Water Commission of Mexico (CONAGUA), with the support of the Water Advisory Council, the Water Center for Latin America and the Caribbean, the Freshwater Action Network Mexico (FANMex) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), have created the “Prize for Water and Adaptation Actions” (PrizeWAA) with the following objectives: compiling water-based climate change adaptation actions and experiences in the Americas, as well as the lessons learned through their implementation, and promoting their replication in other parts of the continent.
You can apply for the Prize between December 14, 2011 and February 15, 2012. The most outstanding action will be rewarded with a monetary stimulus of USD $50,000 which should be used for the development and implementation of the action plan. The three finalists will be taken to the 6th World Water Forum in Marseilles, France, in March 2012, with all expenses covered, in order to present their activity.
Applications for the Prize will be uniquely through the Inventory of Water and Adaptation Actions in the Americas (WaterAAA); the evaluation of candidatures will be carried out by an international Jury based on five criteria, established in the Prize guidelines.
