Building resilience to climate change
This video shows examples of where successful restoration of damaged ecosystems has improved people's lives.
Nature - our trusted ally in the climate change fight
This film explains the two solutions IUCN sees to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change - Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD) and Ecosystem-based Adaptation.
Climate Thinkers taps into the minds of leading scientists, politicians, policy makers and ordinary people to get their insights into the challenges of climate change and their ideas on how to tackle it. The video is produced by TVE with support from the World Bank, UN-REDD and Com+ Alliance, of which IUCN is a part.
Women adapting to climate change in Mozambique
Through its Climate Change and Development Project (CCDP), IUCN is working to develop adaptation measures which will sustainably safeguard local livelihoods and natural habitats.
Three country pilot studies of the project have been completed in Africa that have given new insight into how local livelihoods are being affected by climate variability and what measures people can take to make their lives less vulnerable and more resilient to the changing climate.
In this video Roberto Zolho, CCDP country coordinator in Mozambique, speaks about one of the lessons that has emerged from the project: that adaptation activities must integrate gender considerations, as men and women respond to climatic impacts in different ways.
