The Asia Regional Conservation Forum, the region’s biggest and most important conservation event, was held 10-13 September in Kathmandu, Nepal.

During this event, members of the Commission on Environmental Law (CEL) from three Asian countries - Bangladesh, Nepal, and Singapore - met with CEL Chair Sheila Abed. CEL members had a unique opportunity to meet informally with the Chair, describe their work, express their interest in future collaboration and make requests for additional support. The Chair explained several CEL initiatives, including the Help Desk and the Alexandre Kiss Environmental Law Papers Award competition, and discussed plans for the 2008 World Conservation Congress.
